Admissions Policy
Mainland Preparatory Academy operates an open enrollment admissions policy.
Each class has a closing number, which depends on its charter requirements and/or
the physical limitations of the facilities. The Mainland Preparatory Academy Charter School District
does not discriminate on the basis of sex, national origin, ethnicity, religion, and disability, academic,
artistic, or athletic ability.
Admission Criteria for Incoming Students
Mainland Preparatory Academy criteria is as follows

There are no academic criteria, testing, interviews, or any other evaluation required for admission
and enrollment.

Any student registering for pre-kindergarten must be four (4) years of age by September 1st
of that current year. Children registering for pre-kindergarten must meet the age and income
eligibility requirements as mandated by state guidelines.

Any student registering for kindergarten in March must be five (5) years of age by September 1st of that current year.

Students enrolled in Mainland Preparatory Academy Charter School District are required to live in a geographic area
defined by the following zip codes: 77550, 77551, 77590, 77591, 77568, 77563 and 77539.

The admission policies provide for the exclusion of an applicant who has a documented history of criminal offenses,
juvenile court adjudication, or discipline problems under the TEC Chapter 37.

Tuition

Mainland Preparatory Academy cannot charge an application fee, tuition,
and cannot require a monetary contributions, pledges, or promise as a condition for application,
admission, or enrollment.

The Academy makes all required supplies available at a reasonable cost.

The Academy has a uniform policy. Each student is required
to purchase the proper school uniforms. The uniform policy requires that all students wear a school
uniform everyday.
