Vision

Mainland Preparatory Academy’s Media Center is to promote the skills and attitudes that prepare students to be life-long learners in an information-rich society.

Mission

Mainland Preparatory Academy’s Library Media Center mission is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information enabling them to be literate life-long learners. This mission is accomplished by providing various resources for the curriculum, literature enrichment, recreational reading and by helping students, staff and community access information.

Monday thru Thursday 7:30am - 7pm

Friday 7:30am - 5pm

Library Collection

  • The library media center has over 6,000 books available for checkout by students, staff and patrons of The Academy
  • Fifteen different magazine subscriptions, as wells as three types of newspapers, are available.
  • Over two hundred VHS and DVD's are available for checkout.
  • Books are available on tapes and audio CD.
  • Students have access to four computers, all with internet access and intra-school email. Scanners and digital cameras are available for student use.
  • Games, game web sites, and chat rooms are NOT on any computer in the library.

Parents are invited to use our Library

  • Parents are welcomed to use our library and checkout as many books as they desire.
  • Parents are also invited to become a library volunteer by sharing their time and talents with our school.
  • Currently, we have a fabulous group of parents who offer their services by checking in and out books, shelving materials, processing new books, arranging displays, and various "fun" library jobs.
  • Come by and join us! Your time and days can be flexible and your contribution to your child's education will be very appreciated!

Library Checkout

  • Students need their studunt ID to check out materials.
  • Pre-Kindergarten and kindergarten may check out materials for one week through their classrooms teachers.All checked materials must remain in the classroom.
  • Grades one through eight may check out materials for two weeks.
  • Number of items checked out at one time is limited to two.
  • For special projects and research, the number of restrictions may be waived.
  • Grades one through eight may check out materials for two weeks.

All rules and regulations must be followed to use the library.
